Virtual OSHA Training Online

In light of stay-home orders and social distancing efforts in early 2020, several clients have asked the following – can you do OSHA training online?

Safety By Design is set up and ready to start offering virtual training for almost any OSHA training classes online you may need, including but not limited to:

*Equipment training requires a hands-on evaluation that must be conducted to receive a completion certificate/wallet card.  SBD can do these virtually if you have the equipment available and someone to assist in holding the phone/tablet while we instruct you on what to do prior, during and after the operation.

Virtual Inspections

SBD is set up and able to offer virtual inspections and/or offer advice and guidance on specific situations you may have on your project.  To conduct a thorough inspection, a designated individual would need to walk around the project/facility with a phone and be willing to stop as needed so we can ask questions, take notes and take pictures.

The inspection only includes areas the person walks us through as we may not have knowledge of the site therefore we won’t know if any particular area is left out of the inspection. This could take up to an hour or longer than an in-person inspection, so please be prepared to dedicate the appropriate amount of time to allow us to inspect your project.

In lieu of a “complete” inspection, SBD can address specific scenarios such as scaffold, fall protection, excavation concerns or anything else you may have a question about.  We can schedule a zoom visit and you can show us exactly what your concerns are, allow us to ask questions, take notes and pictures.

Upon completion, we will either provide you instant feedback or we’ll let you know we need time to research the matter before providing any guidance; however we will provide interim guidance such as stopping work in that area or removing exposed workers. We may communicate that work can continue with some provisions until we get back to you with a definitive answer regarding the concern.

Advantages of OSHA Classes Online

With our OSHA training classes online, your employees still have ample opportunity to ask questions. This can match and sometimes exceed the opportunity to ask questions that a face-to-face training course may afford.

The biggest advantage to attending an OSHA safety course online is the flexibility. You and your workers can train from any place with an internet connection. This gives you the opportunity to improve the systemic safety of your workplace while keeping your workers safe from the effects of disease.
